Laparoscopic surgery (known more generally as keyhole surgery) and robotic surgery are alike in that they both use small incisions, a camera, and surgical instruments to complete a procedure. However unlike laparoscopic surgeons who hold and manipulate surgical instruments during surgery, robotic surgeons use the latest in da vinci Xi surgical technology, sitting at a computer console and using controls to manipulate a specialised surgical robot. The da Vinci ® Surgical System is powered by state-of-the-art robotic technology. The System allows the surgeon’s hand movements to be scaled, filtered and translated into precise movements of micro-instruments within the operative site.
Infertility is defined as the inability to conceive after 12 to 18 months of unprotected intercourse, or the inability to carry pregnancies to a live birth. Dr Sabary and his team will work alongside you, providing you with all the information you need to decide how to proceed.
